Composition

Diclofenac Sodium BP 75 mg

Indication

Rheumatoid arthritis; Osteoarthrits; Ankylosing spondylitis; Primary dysmenorrhoea; Pain following dental surery; Acute attack of gout; Ureteral and biliary colic; Inflammation in dental and other minor surgery, Post-operative pain; Low back pain and other acute musculoskeletal disorders such as periarthritis (Frozen shoulder), tendonitis, tenosynovitis, bursitis, dislocation, trauma and fractures. Diclofenac gel is indicated for local treatment of traumatic inflammation of the tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints e.g. due to sprains, strains and in localized forms of soft tissue rheumatism e.g. tenosynovits, shoulder hand syndrome and bursitis. Diclofenac gel is also indicated in localized rheumatic disease.

Dosage

By mouth, 75-150 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses. By deep intramuscular injection into the gluteal muscle, acute exacerbation of pain and post-operative pain, 75 mg once daily (twice daily in severe cases) for maximum of 2 days. Ureteric colic, 75 mg then a further 75 mg after 30 minutes if necessary. By intravenous, 75 mg repeated if necessary after 4-6 hours for maximum of 2 days.
